Active Release Techniques
Active Release Technique is a soft-tissue management system based on the principle that muscles, nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue develop adhesions within and between them after cumulative injuries. These adhesions cause the motion of muscles or joints to be altered, resulting in a wide variety of symptoms including pain, weakness, reduced range of motion, numbness and tingling.
ART® is used to treat a variety of conditions including plantar fasciitis, headaches, sciatica, rotator cuff syndrome, and TMJ. ART® is also used to treat post-surgical scar tissue and peripheral nerve entrapments like carpal tunnel syndrome.
Many times patients can be successfully treated without surgical intervention.
